Óbidos

Similar to an outdoor museum, this medieval town surrounded by ancient walls has been preserved to look like a postcard, with its monuments, narrow and irregular streets and small white houses with windows and terraces full of flowers. Its charm has pass over the centuries: in 1282, the village was a present of the King Dinis to his Spanish bride Isabella of Aragon. In here you can find the Town Gate has na interior decorated with tiles of the eighteenth century; the Straight Street full of small shops where you can buy, for example, traditional ceramics, wicker baskets, miniature windmills and hand looms and embroidery; the fifteenth century castle that has been converted into an inn.

Peniche

Partially surrounded by walls of the sixteenth century, Peniche depends almost entirely from the sea. The fishing industry and the port, the fishermen , trawlers and seagulls create the atmosphere of this town, with its white houses and narrow streets. No wonder it has excellent restaurants specialized in fresh fish and seafood, as well as, providing visitors the opportunity to experience fishing on the high seas. Tourists are also curious to visit the fortress, a monumento from the sixteenth century, where we can overlooke the sea, which was used as a prison by the political regime, whose dictatorship ended only in 1974.

Tomar

The pride of the people from Tomar comes undoubtedly from the Convent of Christ, a twelfth-century castle that includes a monastery founded by the Templar Knights. The church and cloisters are in Manueline style, and it is particularly famous one elaborated window with marine motifs. The “Charola”, the original Templar church, with an octagonal plant was recently restored.
